  • XiTan Climb

    XiTan Climb

    Get a mountain bike and go up a steep hill from the Ciken water factory up to XiTan village. Leave the bikes and walk around and cycle back. On the way stop at Yecun and visitor the big old house (accross the river from the train station).

  • Easy XiaoXu Village

    Easy XiaoXu Village

    Grab a gravel or mountain bike and cycle up to around  Xiaoxu village. A nice hard steady climb up from the main road to Xiaoxu village and then up the road there. Be careful on the way down!!! Some great views of Qingliangfeng but please dont go in the nature reserve buffer or core zone.

    Black Hills BikeHike

    Warming: Dangerous. Trails might need cutting and only done on mountain bike. Check with us before you do. Technical small parts. Hike up at the end but rewarded with nice track down. Check if its been pruned!

    Also a different route that takes in the black hills and back road to Shuizhuken. More road.

    A similar route but no hiking needed. Gravel or MTB. Steep & Hard

  • Big North – Sunset Peaks

    Big North – Sunset Peaks

    Try the Double .

    Note: Its a monster and you need to leave very early and maybe bring lights. 

     

    Twin Peaks. 230 – 250km 4000m

    A out and back. Get a car to longgang or bottom of x311. up and over two 900m climbs. Return. Taxi home.

    QianNiuGang Daming Classic

    A classic hill climb in East China!

    QianNiuGang – Daming Mountain

    25km from Wildhomestay to the bottom of Daming. A nice ride there to the base with a drink and noodle stand. The climb is great and described as the Chinese Baby Mont Ventoux. . Two basic options:

    • Daming Classic (from north). Up – then down. As fast as you can. 25km up from the base, 25km down again. 1250m ascending. 100km total.

    Riding Suggestions:

    • Nothing special.
    • 25 to 28 road tires suggested but ok with 23mm.
    • water as none on the hill.
    • careful on downhill bends – some (but not many) cars and rock fall.
    • possible landslides.
    • camera if nice day.
    • wind jacket or more if rain or outside of summer.
