A fantastic course and great weather for the last Dirty Clean of 2022. The expressions on peoples faces sums up the pleasure and pain 🙂 A huge thanks to our partners for all the great prizes. We hope to announce next year’s calendar in December along with this season’s winners. We look forward to seeing many new faces and old legs again for 2023.
A weekend of Clean Rides around Wildhomestay, in Anhui, China. Date: November 12th 2022, 8am. Type: Clean – Road bike. 168km 3000m
This challenge loops around the south of our area taking in the fantastic Qianniugang / Daming Mountain South Ascent. The Ascent is 1100m + making it one of the longest uninterrupted climbs in the region. It winds its way along streams, through bamboo forests, tea plantations, rice terraces, the odd village and up to the top of the satellite station on the top of the mountain. Its described as “a world-class truly epic climb” and we concur :)!
These “clean” riding challenges are small scale, half competitive and half social! Clean Challenges take place on tarmac and concrete roads mostly of good quality. Expect a few rough areas and for your comfort, we suggest 28 tires or larger. There will be timed stages that make for a safer and more social but still highly competitive and fun day out. Support and rest points provided en route. Events will be delayed if terrible weather or changes to the current covid situation make it unsafe to hold the event.

Extremely pleased this happened all considered and very lucky with the weather, air and everything else. Some serious climbs, some challenging downhills, too much food, not nearly enough photographs, and a great adventure through a well marked course in rural Anhui! Lessons learned, improvements to be made and looking forward to the 2022 Challenge Series. Details to be announced soon.
Very Well done to the challenge and award winners and many thanks to our partners for the great prizes.
The Clean Cycling road challenge will happen on the 1st of August and the Dirty Adventure Ride on the 22nd of August. More to hopefully come later in the year. Small scale, informal, very challenging, social and a bunch of fun! https://www.wildhomestay.com/cycling/races/dirtyclean/
