Whats in the local area? Interesting places within 1 hour drive. Most of the local roads are very windy so it takes time to drive on them. The G56 mortorway exit is 10 minutes drive from the homestay so there are various interesting options to the East and West of us which can be easily driven within 1 hour.

30 minutes on small roads – very local
- YingChuang Village: Where Wildhomestay is Located. Map & Guide
- Qingliang Feng Nature Reserve : Keep out of the core and buffer zones but many interesting places around the perimeter and experimental zones.
- Shangtan Village & Terraces :10m drive | 30m walk from the Homestay. Very nice rice and vegetable terraces. Map
- Remote Daxiyuan Village :10m drive but dont suggest you drive it.
- Xitan Village & Hill Hike : A nice walk west over from the homestay with possible extensions or car back to the homestay. Map
- Sanyang Old Street & Shopping : 15m drive and our main local village. Map & Guide
- Gaoshan Hill Village & Old Architecture : a double village on top of a local hill. Some lovely old buildings and a nice hike up to a pavilion with good views. 25m drive. Map
30 minutes to 1 hour on Small Roads
- Jinchuan Xiang & Gechuan Peak : About 40m drive up a lovely road which heads south out of Sanyang. Map.
- Yingkengcun & Horshoe peak and around: Great exploring in this area. Map
- Poshan Town & Hills : about 40m drive west. Hills, rivers, mulberry, small hikes. Map
- ShuiZhuKeng Old Town & Hills : A very nice old town in the hills between us and Jixi. Map
- Shitan Cun Old Town & Hills : very steep small rolling hills. Xiakeng Village. Map
- Yenke : best walked from the homestay but just under an hour to drive on a bad construction road. New cable car and glass bridges being built. Map
45 minutes to 1 hour on Motorway G56 West
- Zhangshan Grand Canyon: A small canyon with nice walls, pools, little villages at the south of the Huihang Gu Dao Trail. Map
- Xin’An River : A very nice river drive, cycle or motorbike. Guide & Map
- She County : A large town city with interesting Huizhou Architectural museums, old street and memorial arch area. Check out our Map & Guide to She County
- JiXi City : A large city west of us.
- Tunxi City : A large city, airport, jumping-off point for Huangshan Mountain, old street and various interesting places.
45 minutes to 1 hour on Motorway G56 East
- Daming Shan: the big hill in the area for cycling, even a bit of winter skiing. Map
- Botanical Garden: nice drive or ride with more great walks. Map
Local 1 Day Driving Itineraries:
By Car or motorbike within 1 day.
- Old Villages & Hills: ShuiZhuKeng Old Town > Zhangshan Grand Canyon > Sanyang Old town (if time) and home. Full day.
- 3 Peaks: Discover the rubbish river and the peaks it connects. Poshan to Shitang. Great little hikes and villages especially during certain seasons.
- Remote Yinkeng: Drive to the villages above (south of) Yingkeng and hike along the mountain top fire lane and southern rivers.
- The fingers: Drive south towards Qiandaohu and discover some lost villages, following rivers and secluded areas.
