Room & Booking Related

Q. What is booking process?  

A. 房间和餐饮可以直接在线预订www.wildhomestay.com 或发送本邮件地址info@wildhomestay.com预订。

  1. Register. Go to our registration page. We suggest registering with wechat. If not email is also fine.
  2. Book a room/home. Login and book and pay for the room online. Please see the cancelation policy before you order.
  3. Before your visitcheck-in online and prebook your main meals and events.

Q. Do you rent rooms or only houses?  

A. Both.  

Q. Can I bring my Dog / Dogs?  

A. We welcome pets and have two queen rooms and two family rooms where we allow dogs in the Mosaic House. Due to peoples allergies and cleaning we do not allow dogs in other rooms. We charge an extra 80 RMB cleaning fee to your visit / per room. We will remove bean bags and carpet from the rooms so please bring a dog bed if your dog requires it. Please don’t let dogs sleep in the bed. Any damage to rooms or furniture etc will be charged to you. Also no un-house trained dogs please. Also we suggest dogs are kept on a lead or within site during your entire visit.  

Q. How family friendly are the houses and is the area?  

A. For a mountain area it is family friendly as there are many activities for families to do outdoors. However, the area and houses are not designed for young children or special needs access. We have a small enclosed play area for young children.  

Q: Do I need to bring my passport? 

A: Yes, you need to bring your passport when you travel anywhere in China. We register you with the police. Please check-in online before you arrive at www.wildhomestay.com/checkin/.   

Q: Do you have any places for my driver to stay? 

A: There are a few very basic local villagers house which cost from 50-70RMB / night, up to120- 150RMB including 3 meals. Another option is a small hotel 15mins away drive from us, 120RMB/night, no food provided, but a restaurant next to it.  

Q: Can you organize local taxi’s for us?  

A: Yes, ask in the cafe or contact the drivers through the numbers we provide. They are simple local mini vans.   

Q. What are the important things to bring   

A. Various things including :

    • Yourself and family / friends   
    • Your passports   
    • Your phone to make payments   
    • Some cash in case wifi and internet is out  
    • Your activity gear  
  • Some bug spray (we have extra if needed)   
  • Some sun cream  
  • Any special meds or food.   

Q. What do you suggest to bring?  

A. Some or all of the following  

  • Ipad or computer if you want to watch a film or something.  
  • A good book   
  • Sun glasses & hat  
  • Long hiking socks or running trousers. The tall grasses can cut up your lower legs on some of the trails so bring trousers, leggings or running pants.   
  • Shoes with good tread on them as the steep paths can get slippery.  
  • Bike – we have a few lenders.  
  • Camera / Drone   
  • Family Games   

Q. Do I need to bring linen, towels, soap etc  

A. No, we provide it and its clean and fresh! Each house also has drinking water in bottles which you can fill up in the cafe.  

Q. What is the situation with Drinking Water / Do I need to bring it?  

A. No, we provide free drinking water for all guests in the houses and in the cafe. Its local water filtered through XiaoMi filters. We don’t have sterile bottle water for sale due to plastic waste.  

Q. I’ve run out of something – what to do   

A. Ask in the cafe and we can let you know if we have stock or if and where you can get locally. Each house has a small box with bulbs, bug spray, electric bug killer tennis racket 🙂 for house items.  

Q. Can I smoke in homes?   

A. Nope, safety first – you’re in a wood house.   

Q. Can I eat meals in the homes?   

A. Nope, but you can eat them on your balcony, terrace or roof. Please don’t eat or cook in your homes.  

Q. What happens if the electricity goes off?   

A. This happens very occasionally and we have no generators so we all have to live with it. Normally the government will inform us of this beforehand or its during a very big storm. Normally it will be fixed within 3 hours. Houses have emergency lighting and flash lights.  


Food Related Q&A

Q: What happens if I don’t book a meal 24h before.

A: We will see what we can do and offer dumplings and noodles all day. If that does not work we can organize a taxi or you can drive to a local restaurant in Sanyang.

Q: Can I cook myself?

A: Sorry to say No. We hope to offer a guest kitchen which can be rented in the future.

Q: Is there a local market I can buy my own food.

A: Yes there is one in Sanyang Town 15 minutes away. We suggest you buy food between 7 and 9am when their fresh stock is there. A few supermarkets and tiny butcher and fresh veg shops.

Q: Can I get a very early breakfast.?

A: Sorry we can only offer breakfast from  730 onwards. Keep some breakfast in your House fridge and get some on your way in the towns and villages.

Q: What time does the cafe open?

A: Approx 7 to 7.30am and closes at 10pm (sometimes later!)

Q: Are there other eating options in the area?

A: Nothing really in the Village. Your best bet is in Sanyang Town, 15 minutes drive away where there are a few basic restaurants serving local food.

Q: Do you have vegetarian or vegan options?

A: Yes.   Please contact well beforehand.

Q: Can I have BBQ at my own terrace/roof?

A: Yes. At your own terrace, self cooked, or at the communal roof, cooked for you.

Q: Do I have to pre book the meals?

A: Yes. To keep our food fresh, all our food are fresh cooked, some vegetable are fresh picked.是的。

Q: Do you offer gluten free food?

A: Sorry, I’m afraid we have not gotten around to gluten free meals. We suggest you bring your own food and can use our kitchen to cook.


Activity Related

Q: What options are there for hiking and can you provide maps and routes?

A: There are 100s of good hiking, walking, and trail running options. From concrete path routes to full on mountain climbing. Don’t go into the nature reserve. We can provide digital maps and route links when you’re there.

Q: Are there any activities for children?

A: We have a small enclosed play area for young children. There is also the great outdoors and children normally have a great time. Build camps / tree houses / jump into pool (be careful please), go for adventures. We also have some craft items and games for children as well.

Q: Any interesting places nearby?

A: Yes, Many: – need to list this out but many old town and villages and mountains within 1h.
